::Devotional:: ‘Accused’ [Video by Sanctus Real]

July 23, 2010

Nobody likes to fail, but men are especially vulnerable to having a fear of failure.  At least this one does. Haha!  The devil knows this and is constantly attacking us through accusations.  It’s amazing how forgiven I am through the blood of Jesus Christ, and yet how the accusations of the devil weigh on me sometimes.  Some days I feel more like the accused than the redeemed.

When those attacks come and the weights are being placed upon my shoulders I turn to the word of the Lord and remind myself of his forgiveness.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits– 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfiesyour desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. 9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.  Psalm 103:2-5, 8-12

One of my favorite music groups is Sanctus Real and I’m including there video ‘Forgiven’ here this morning a reminder that no matter where we’ve gone or what we’ve been, when we rest in the arms of Christ, we’re forgiven.
