::Devotional:: ‘Thankful for My In-Laws’

April 16, 2010

If you do a google search for “in-laws” the majority of the results that are returned are not positive.  With results like “I HATE my in-laws” and “Tips on Dealing with your in-laws” it is easy to see that most people don’t have a good relationship with their in-laws.  That’s why I’m expressing my gratitude to the Lord and to my in-laws for a great relationship with them.

“Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”  Deuteronomy 5:16

I have been blessed with wonderful in-laws who are always willing to offer counsel and help whenever and wherever they can.  I appreciate the truth of this passage so much this morning.  The wisdom and experience our parents and in-laws can provide is truly priceless.  It is easy to see why honoring them is such an important thing.

-Stay Rooted Col. 2:7-
